Traditional Scrapbook Page

scrapbook robert III

Created this page for Scrapbook Day, on June 18th.   When the ladies come to scrapbook, (and please, men are more than welcome to come) I have layouts with either this style, our project life series or sometimes both. Depends on who is coming and what they prefer.

We have a great day with gals doing their own thing.  View my Scrapbook page above for more details on next class   Cost is very reasonable and we have a FUN time.

The pages above are of one of my grandsons that graduated last May from the Southern New Hampshire University with a degree in Culinary Arts.   So Proud of Robert for all the hard work he put into getting his degree.

I used matching Designer Paper (retired now), Stampin’ UP! 12×12 Cardstock, some page protectors and our Black Leather Album.    You can see items below

12 x 12 page protectors

12 x 12 Whisper White Cardstock

Vertical Greetings #GDP041

Vertical Greetings #GDP041

Another Global Design Project which this time was with Colors:  White, Night of Navy and Sweet Sugarplum.  What a great color combination.

As you can see, I used the same Stamp Set, Vertical Greetings, that I used the other day.  Just love that set.  I think I’ll save this card for my next Club in July…the girls are going to love this color combination.

Card base is the typical 8 1/2 x 11 cut in half, then folded.   The Night of Navy on the side is 4 x 1 1/2 and the Sweet Sugarplum is 4 x 5 1/4.  The small Whisper White piece on top with greeting is 4 x 2.

Using Swirly Bird Stamp Set, I stamped all over the Sweet Sugarplum Cardstock with Sweet Sugarplum from Ink Pad.  I then ran the Night of Navy piece through Big Shot using the Large Polka Dot   (hard to see on image).  Then assembled this portion of the card.

Next, I used the Swirly Scribbles  Dies to cut out my images. The middle sized swirly in Sweet Sugarplum and then the long on in Night of Navy.  You can add the Night of Navy now, but I’d wait on the Sweet Sugarplum swirly until you get the greeting completed.

To finish off the card, I stamped Thank You from the Vertical Greetings Stamp Set on the lower left side of the  Whisper White Cardstock.  Using a marker, I colored directly on the stamp from Vertical Greetings, (there are three flowers with pots so pick the one you like best)  For the flowers, I used Sweet Sugarplum, Garden Green for the stem and then Night of Navy for the Pot.  I also used a dauber and my Sweet Sugarplum ink Pad and colored around the edges .

Assemble by sliding the Swirly under and over the Whisper White Card Stock using a little bit of the Fine Tip Glue.   I adhered the Whisper White with dimensional to give the piece a little more dimension.

Vertical Greetings

Vertical Greetings

I just love this set.  When I first started stamping some 10 or so years ago, there was card she, my now upline Caroline Susi, demonstrated and I just loved it.   Each year when the new catalog comes out, I look for a vertical stamp set.  Finally this year, it is here!

To place my vertical image on the side, I just cut the card to 1 1/2″ smaller. So it would be 4 1/4 by 9 1/2 then score at 5 1/2.  For the coloring on the flowers and pot, I used markers Garden Green, Black and then one of Stampin’ Up! new in colors, Peekaboo Peach.  Then on the flowers, I used a dauber and the Sweet Sugarplum In color pad and stamp just a little around the flower to give it some dimension.

Please let me know if you need other directions and I’ll forward a project list.

Supplies used are below and linked to my online store if you’d like to order them:

You’ve Got This #GDP040

Youve got this

Another Global Design Project #GDP040 This weeks challenge was to take something from the posted card that you liked and create your own card.  I really loved the highlighting around the flowers so that is what I choose.

I used Black Stazon ink on Stampin’ Up! Shimmery White Cardstock so I could easily watercolor without smugging my card. When the Black Stazon Ink dries, there are no issues with getting it wet  The stamp set is You’ve Got This.  I love this set and was so glad Stampin’ Up!  carried it over from last year’s catalog

Some needed supplies to complete this card.  If you would like a complete project list, please let me know and I’ll get a PDF file to you.

You’ve Got This Stamp Set      also coming in Wood Mount

Shimmer White Cardstock

Aqua Painters

Black Stazon

and then some of our fabulous     New In Colors

As always, please send me any questions or comments.

Happy Creating

Rose Wonder Stamp Set

Love my Peones that bloomed last week so used them as my inspiration for this post.   This Set ‘ Rose Wonder’ comes with thinlets also so you can do the outlines.

My technique was to watercolor the flower and leafs with an aqua painter, then use the thinlet dies to cut my outline for the flower and dies.   Love it!

If you need any directions, please let me know and I’ll send them to you.

The Stamp Set, Rose Wonder, is a must see so go   Rose Wonder Stamp Set and see all the great images and sayings it has.   Really a must have in my book.  You can also see the thinlet dies that coordinates with this set on the same page.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.   I’ll be posting again this upcoming weekend.  I have a scrapbooking class Saturday so will probably post some of those pictures on Sunday.

Swirly Scribbles and Thoughtful Banners

Squirly Squibbles

Fun card I made for my Open House.  Quick and easy.   I just love the Thoughtful Banners set from Stampin’ UP! .  As you can see, I featured the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2016-2018.   Card is pretty simply.  I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies to cut out my images then chose what I wanted for my words to put on the top

Hint:  If you use the fine-tip glue pen, it will make getting your images glued and on your cardstock much easier.  The glue pen has a very small tip so it will cover most any small image without getting glue everywhere.

Get Well #GDP039

Get Well Floral Affection

This is a card created for Mondays GDP challange.  This week it was for a theme which is as you can see Get Well.   Stampin’ Up! has come out with a new embossing folder  “Floral Affection“.  It has two embossing folder (see below under supplies for images).  I haven’t used any Vellium  Cardstock lately and it is a great technique so I decided that would work great with this embossing folder.   My color choices were from the new Stampin’ UP! In Colors, Emerald Envy and Sweet Sugarplum.  Of course, there are so many color choices that would also be great on this card.    See what colors you could come up with.

Directions for card

  1. Cut a piece of Whisper White Card Stock ( 8 1/2 x 11) in half and fold.  This is your card base.
  2. Cut a piece of Emerald Envy Card Stock, 4 x 5 1/4 and run though your Big Shop using the Fluttering Embossing Folder
  3. Next, I cut a 6″ piece of the New Sweet Sugarplum Ribbon.  Adhere to the Emerald Envy Cardstock you just finished.  I find it easier to put a little mono adhesive in center of ribbon, attach to the embossed side in the center, then wrap around the edges and attach on back with more mono adhesive.   Now attached this piece to your White Base.
  4. Cut a piece of Vellium Cardstock,  2 3/4 x 3 1/4.  Center in the Floral Affection Embossing Folder and run through your Big Shot.   On the embossed side of the Vellium, I stamped my Get Well Image, Thoughts and Prayers Stamp Set, using the Sweet Sugarplum ink pad
  5. Now turn your Vellium Embossed Cardstock over to the back side , using Stampin’ UP!  In Color Markers, color the flowers and leaves with Emerald Envy and Sugarplum.
  6. I then cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock the same size 2 3/4 x 3 1/4 and using Tombow Glue attached the vellum to the White.  Cut a piece of Emerald Green (3 x 3 1/2) and layered those of the Green.  Now attach to your card with either dimensional or mono adhesive

Hint:    When I am using Vellium CardStock, I make sure that I only but my adhesive (I like the Tombow Glue for this) behind a colored design.  If you use adhesive right on the clear vellium, it will show through and you’ll have little spots.

#MOJO451 PAINTER’S PALETTE

MOJO451

Stampin’ UP!s new Stamp Set Painter’s Palette was used today for a #MOJO451 Challenge.   If interested in challenges, go to mojomonday.blogspot.com.   I love the challenges because they give me some inspiration on either design layouts, colors or themes.  Monday’s challenge was a design challenge. I find these challenges very helpful when I’m creating a card for new ideas.

  1. This card is really simple ….which I love  Base Card is using the new Stampin’ Up! in color Sweet Sugarplum.   I cut a piece of 8 1/2 by 11 Cardstock in half and folder in half.
  2. Next I cut a piece of another new in color Emerald Envy 4 1/2 x 3 1/4. Layered that on my base using mono adhesive.
  3. Now for the New Playful Palette Designer Series Paper Stack.  This paper stack comes with 48 sheets (6 x 6) 4 of each design.   I chose this design because I liked the way the colors matched  my Cardstock.  I cut this to 4 1/4 x 3 and they layered using Mono Adhesive on the Emerald Envy.
  4. For the circle on top, I punched out  a 2 1/2 circle of Whisper White Cardstock, then stamped the image from the stamp set  Painter’s Palette using the Sweet Sugarplum Ink Pad.
  5. Line up the circle on the edge of your card, and cut to fit.  I used a dauber to go around the white edges with the Sweet Sugarplum.  Attached this piece with mono adhesive.
  6. The Ribbon is next giving the card a little extra accent.  Ribbon  is in Sweet Sugarplum also.  Love how Stampin’ UP! has all the colors matching and lots of embellishments that match also.  Cut a small piece of ribbon, fold the edges and cut at a diagonal and use a glue dot to attached to cardstock.  I put a White Perfect Accents in center

Great card that took less than 10 minutes to make.  Use any colors, designer paper, and embellishment to this card to make it your own or you can always copy as is.
